Our service is structured on the basis of the specific skills that each therapist has gained during their professional and training experience.

We offer specialized services in different areas of rehabilitation ensuring a complete and effective care that is structured according to the needs and expectations of the patient.

Orthopedic and post-operative rehabilitation

Orthopedic rehabilitation is performed with the aim of recovering motor skills that have been lost or reduced due to trauma or pathologies. It can be performed both as a preparation and following surgery. The rehabilitation process consists of a specialist visit, a clinical evaluation and the therapeutic approach of the individual rehabilitation program.

The most commonly treated pathologies are:

  • Idiopathic scoliosis

  • Osteo-articular trauma such as sprains and dislocations

  • Rheumatic diseases

  • Outcomes of elective surgery such as ligament and muscle reconstructions

  • Outcomes of fractures and multiple trauma (fractures of the lower limbs, pelvis, etc.)

  • Outcomes of major operations (hip or knee arthroplasty, osteosynthesis)

The manual physiotherapy techniques (passive and active) have as their objective the control of pain and inflammation, the recovery of flexibility / articularity, recovery of resistance and muscle strength, recovery of coordination and gestures.

Neurological rehabilitation

Physiotherapy in the neurological field deals with the treatment of disabilities secondary to pathologies, congenital or acquired, affecting the nervous system.

The set of these pathologies is very vast (stroke, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, senile dementias, paraplegia, radiculopathies) and that is why it is necessary to use different methods and rehabilitation approaches that allow the physiotherapist to set the treatment in a safe and effective way.

After a careful assessment of the patient's intact and residual abilities, the physiotherapist deals with neuromotor functional recovery, through the teaching of motor strategies and the conduct of perceptual-sensory experiences, aimed at increasing the activities of daily life.

The ultimate goal of rehabilitation remains the reintegration of the person at a social and professional-working level where possible, or the maintenance of what has been acquired in the rehabilitation phase.

Cardio-respiratory rehabilitation

Cardiorespiratory physiotherapy plays a role in the prevention and management of heart and lung diseases, as well as in the treatment of people who experience them. It is now widely recognized that appropriate exercise can be an effective disease prevention strategy and is an integral part of managing patients with a variety of cardiovascular conditions. Designing a rehabilitation program in which patients can safely resume activity under the supervision of an experienced physical therapist is an important goal of cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation programs. Like the rest of the body, the heart and lungs are prone to injury or disease. Cardiorespiratory physiotherapy refers to the prevention, treatment and ongoing management of heart and lung diseases (such as cystic fibrosis, emphysema, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, pneumonia and bronchitis). Physiotherapy can also help recovery after chest surgery.

Geriatric rehabilitation and fall prevention

In the geriatric field, maintaining strength, proper joint mobility and balance are essential to ensure a healthy lifestyle and prevent the onset of secondary diseases. In this context, physiotherapy intervention can provide an important contribution to maintaining the health of the elderly and improving the quality of life. As well as the onset of arthrosis and other joint diseases, the risk of falling is one of the most common health problems of the geriatric age. Given their frequency and their consequences, they represent a serious health problem, also in terms of health costs, like heart attack or stroke. The issue therefore deserves due consideration and it is important to understand the causes in order to implement adequate prevention methods.

The rehabilitation project consists of an initial assessment of each patient's "predisposition" to falls, carried out through specific tests, and then intervenes with personalized rehabilitation treatments:

  • Exercises to increase muscle strength and endurance

  • Exercises to improve function and coordination of the step

  • Exercises to improve balance, activate deep stabilizing and anti-gravity muscles, and visual-proprioceptive postural reprogramming

  • Muscle mobility exercises

Bariatric rehabilitation

Weight loss and obesity treatment are certainly one of the most frequent challenges faced by many people on a daily basis. Following a personalized training program that provides global reactivation of the subject is essential for the success of this intervention. It is precisely in this context that the physiotherapist plays a fundamental role not only in the context of normal weight loss but also in the preparatory and consequent phases of a bariatric surgery. The sharing of goals and the development of personalized training programs allow a simpler and safer weight loss management. Each choice is discussed and undertaken in agreement with the specialist doctor to guarantee the person concerned the achievement of their goals in a linear and effective way.

Sports rehabilitation and return to play (RTP)

In sports, both amateur and professional, the objectives and functional demands that athletes aim for are significantly higher than a non-sporting standard and recovery times are often influenced by the need to return to the field or participate in competitions. For this reason, the rehabilitation process has notable differences compared to a traditional path. Often the frequency of treatment is greater and management begins already in the acute phase in the first days following the trauma. Furthermore, the good physical condition that usually characterizes athletes means that recovery is faster and functional exercises and gestures are introduced already in the early stages of rehabilitation. An essential and characterizing element of this type of rehabilitation is in fact the “RETURN TO PLAY” phase in which specific exercises are proposed to recover the typical gestures of the sport practiced by these subjects.

TMJ rehabilitation

The rehabilitation of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) involves a set of techniques aimed at correcting more or less severe dysfunctions of the joint complex that connects the skull to the mandible. The most common problems see the presence of joint creaking when opening and closing the mouth, a feeling of stiffness in the face and the presence of pain in the vicinity of the eye and ear as a result of even slight pressure, such as resting the head on the pillow.

Thanks to the application of these techniques and a targeted analysis carried out in collaboration with the dentist, it is possible to correct any misalignments, intervene on the muscles that controls this area and facilitate recovery following surgery or blunt trauma.
